S&P/ASX 200 Index
The S&P/ASX 200 index is the benchmark institutional investable benchmark in Australia, consisting of the 200 largest eligible stocks listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) by float-adjusted market capitalization. It is widely considered Australia's primary stock market index.

Maintained by Standard & Poor's, the ASX 200 covers approximately 80% of the Australian equity market capitalization. It is highly concentrated in the Financials and Materials sectors, reflecting the structure of the Australian economy which is heavily weighted toward banking and mining.
