01Introduction
TradingKite ("we," "our," or "us") provides portfolio analytics, tax estimation, and wash-sale monitoring for individual investors. Your privacy matters to us — we run a clean business: no ads, no data selling, no sharing with financial institutions.
This policy explains what data we collect, who we share it with (and why), and what rights you have over it.
02What We Collect
Account information
Email address and name, collected via Clerk (our authentication provider). If you use Google or another social login, Clerk receives only the profile data you authorise with that provider.
Portfolio & transaction data
Holdings, purchase prices, quantities, and transaction dates you enter manually or import. Used solely to calculate analytics, tax estimates, and wash-sale alerts for you.
Usage & analytics data
Pages visited, features used, and session timing — collected via PostHog, a privacy-first analytics tool. This data is aggregated; we do not build individual advertising profiles.
Payment information
We do not store your card details. Payments are processed by Cashfree (India) or PayPal (other regions). We receive only a subscription status and an anonymised transaction reference.

04How we use your data
- •Calculate and display portfolio analytics, tax estimates, wash-sale alerts, and TurboTax/CA exports.
- •Manage your account, subscription, and billing.
- •Send transactional emails (receipts, renewal reminders, critical service notices).
- •Improve platform features based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns.
- •Respond to support requests.
06Your rights
Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
Request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data.
Export your portfolio data as CSV from your account settings.
Correct inaccurate personal information held on your account.
Opt out of any non-essential analytics at any time.
14-day right to withdraw from digital subscriptions under consumer protection law.

07Data retention
We retain your account and portfolio data for as long as your account is active, or for up to 90 days after account deletion (to allow recovery). After that window, all personal data is permanently purged from our systems.
Anonymised usage analytics may be retained indefinitely as they cannot be linked back to you.
08Children
TradingKite is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
09Changes to this policy
We will update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify you by email if we make material changes that affect how your data is used. Continued use of the service after any changes constitutes acceptance.
